Individuals who are not allowed to open a Derivatives account at ACBS include:

• Individuals under 18 years of age;
• Individuals who do not have full civil capacity; are serving a prison sentence or are prohibited by the court from doing business;
• Directors/General Directors, Deputy Directors/Deputy General Directors, Department Heads, and employees of other Trading Members.

In order to open a buy/sell position in a futures contract, clients need to deposit an amount of money (or securities) before trading. This amount of money (securities) is called Initial Margin (IM) and is considered as a deposit to cover possible losses on the contract position held during a trading day.

Currently, clients can only deposit in cash.

The Client must deposit before making a transaction. After depositing money into the Derivatives account at ACBS, the Client must continue to transfer the deposit to VSD.

• No, the Client only needs to deposit n% of the transaction contract value (n% depends on ACBS’s regulations from time to time)

  Suppose, ACBS stipulates the following management parameters:

  Initial margin ratio: 17%

  Warning level 1: 70%

  Minimum retention ratio at ACBS: 5%

  The Client needs to open a buy position of 1 VN30Fxxxx contract at price 950 (equivalent to the transaction contract value of 95,000,000 VND)

  -> The initial margin required is: 95,000,000*13%=12,350,000 VND

  -> Customers can only buy up to Warning Level 1 and the minimum retention ratio at ACBS is 5%, so the amount to be deposited into the Derivatives account at ACBS is (12,350,000 / 70%)*(1 +5%) = 18,525,000 VND, equivalent to 19.5% of the transaction contract value. In which, Customers need to deposit to VSD before making a transaction with the amount of 12,350,000 / 70% = 17,642,857 VND
